The City of Hendersonville North Carolina is accepting applications for an Assistant Fire Marshal. This employee will provide assistance in the planning and coordinating the activities of the City’s Life Safety Division including investigation and code compliance inspection, fire prevention and staff training. Emphasis of the work is on participating in the inspections of buildings for fire hazards, promoting fire prevention/education and fire safety awareness as well as investigating fires.
The City of Hendersonville Fire Department consists of three divisions: Administration, Operations, and Life Safety. The Life Safety division is made up of a Fire Marshal, two Assistant Fire Marshals and one part-time Fire Inspector. The Life Safety division is responsible for over 4,000 fire inspections, conducts plans review for existing and new properties within the City and coordinates and conducts over 150 hours of public education annually.
An Associate’s Degree in Fire Science or related field of study.
North Carolina Fire Inspector Probationary within 90 days of employment.
Expected Hiring Range
$40,696 to $61,929
