This is general duty firefighting work performing emergency and non-emergency tasks in the areas of fire suppression, hazardous materials, technical rescue, fire prevention, emergency or disaster preparedness, as well as responding to emergency medical calls and performing skilled Basic Life Support (BLS). The City of Everett employs seven (7) engine companies (one swing engine), two (2) ladder companies (one swing ladder), three (3) ALS medic units and three BLS aid units when staffing allows. There are six (6) fire stations located throughout the city. There are currently 170 uniformed firefighters employed. In 2018 the Department was dispatched to approximately 23,000 incidents, of which almost 20,000 were EMS incidents.
